Play It Safe at Port Discovery
Get ready to Play It Safe! Port Discovery is teaming up with community partners to make safety fun and engaging for families. You’ll explore how to keep everyone safe while having a blast this summer. Kids will be able to take part in an interactive Safety Town, where they’ll learn about traffic safety and discover cool gear to stay protected.
Plus, don’t miss Peake, the adorable Chesapeake Bay Retriever (pup)pet, whose ready to join in on the excitement and teach kids how to stay safe and healthy while playing and having fun outside. Let’s play it safe and have a great time together this summer!

The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum's Annual "Voices of History" Street Fair
The National Great Blacks In Wax Museum proudly presents the 8th Annual "Voices of History" Street Fair, a vibrant celebration of community arts, culture, and health in Baltimore. Boards & Breakfast at Jake's Skate Park
Start your weekend off right with skating and snacks at Jake’s Skatepark! Stop by this free event for kids under 12 to learn to skate in a fun, supportive environment. Local pro-skate Joey Jett of Bmore Create, along with shredders from the Skatepark of Baltimore and Shape Skate Foundation, will be assisting young skaters to get on the board.

Hopfest 2025
Celebrate the art of the hops at Max’s Taphouse Hopfest 2025! Find your new favorite brew from the 60+ hoppy beers that will be taking over the tap lines. This is a free to attend event.

OktoBIERfest
It’s time to fill das boot because Oktobeirfest is back! Join Max’s Taphouse for dozens of German & German-style biers all weekend long. This event is FREE to attend.

Rare & Obscure Beer Festival
Mark your calendars for the Annual Rare & Obscure Beer Festival at Max’s Taphouse! Come try some beers you'd be hard pressed to find on draft anywhere else. All drafts will be available in person in 5oz and 10oz pours. Event is free to attend. Must be 21+

Black Friday 2025
Black Friday is here, and so is a lineup of curated beers at Max’s Taphouse! Try all the darkest stouts & porters as dozens of dark beers take over the tap lines for ONE DAY ONLY. Don’t miss out on this incredible roster to celebrate the dark side of brewing.

Maryland Science Center's 48th Annual Solstice Gala
Join the party and support the mission to inspire, empower, and engage. Dress to impress and celebrate with exciting science demonstrations, live music, food and drink! Mingle and explore the museum’s three levels of hands-on interactive exhibits. Solstice is for ages 21+ only. Funds raised through Solstice support free admission for all Maryland school children and their teachers who visit as part of a field trip during the upcoming school year. Solstice also funds our outreach programs—Traveling Science Program, Ready Set Go Science, and Family Science and Family Engineering Nights.

AfroFutro: A Journey to the Golden Cloud Nebula
The Walters Art Museum will be hosting a special Juneteenth performance, celebrating Afro House music. Scott Patterson of Afro House’s Astronaut Symphony has curated a immersive performance that explores human connection to planet, solar system, and beyond.

AFRAM 2025
Observe Juneteenth weekend at one of the largest African American festivals on the East Coast. AFRAM will be taking over Druid Hill Park for a show stopping festival weekend. Check out the line up of family friendly activities, cultural performances, live music, and more that is in store at this annual festival.

Art After Hours: Solstice
Celebrate the Summer Solstice with a late-night art party at the BMA. Explore the the current, special exhibitions while dancing to the sounds of Afro-house, Latin, ambient, and Afrobeats, and enjoying themed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.

Crafting with Nature: Electroforming
Unlock the art of electroforming and create a stunning, nature-inspired piece of jewelry! In this 2-day workshop designed for ages 14+, you will learn the complete process of transforming botanicals and florals into a lasting piece of wearable art through electroforming—a type of metalworking that uses an electric charge. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned maker, this workshop is perfect for anyone eager to explore this intriguing art form.

Super Science Sleepover: Minecraft Mania
Get ready for the ultimate pixel party at the Science Center! Take on a hydraulic challenge. Explore the world of slime, and launch rockets at Creepers. Whether you’re crafting your next masterpiece or completing the scavenger hunt, this event is the perfect night for all block builders! This event is intended for families with children ages 5+. Younger siblings are welcome to join, but are not permitted to sleep over. All attendees must purchase a ticket. Children must have an adult in their party.

Sour Fest 2025
Sour Fest is back at Max’s Taphouse! Tap into a weekend of new brews with 60+ featured sour beers on draft throughout the weekend from breweries like Evil Twin NYC, RAR, Prairie, and more.

Pride & Joy at Port Discovery
Let’s celebrate love, joy, and being your true self at Pride & Joy – a day where every family shines! On June 1, Port Discovery invites you to a fun-filled day packed with creativity, connection, and community. enjoy hands-on activities, performances, and plenty of playful surprises, in a space where all are welcome. Let’s kick off June with pride, laughter, and love!

Artscape Weekend at Port Discovery
On May 24th and 25th, enjoy discounted admission to the museum with $10 per person and extend your Artscape experience with hands-on, art-focused activities at Port Discovery, just ten minutes away from Kidscape!

Balticon 59
Get ready for a four-day celebration of Science Fiction and Fantasy! Join over fifteen hundred fans of all backgrounds to celebrate Science Fiction and Fantasy with more than 300 hours of diverse programming, from award winning authors and publishers to twitch live-streamers, from cosplay experts to renowned scientists and tech innovators. Sing along with filkers, immerse yourself in a stunning Art Show and Masquerade, and laugh and cry at the Film Festival.

Sensory Friendly Sunday
Port Discovery’s Sensory Friendly Mornings provide Museum access to families who would benefit from a sensory friendly experience and quieter setting at Port Discovery two hours before opening to the general public. Designed to provide an opportunity to enjoy the Port Discovery experience in a sensory modified setting there will be limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments. Sensory Friendly Mornings will include open-play opportunities throughout the Museum. No proof of qualification will be required.

Community Day at Port Discovery
Come play and learn while exploring Port Discovery’s three floors of open play areas including The SkyClimber, The Port, Tiny’s Diner, Wonders of Water, and more! Plus, stop by some educational drop-in activities created by Port Discovery’s Education Specialists.

Access & Inclusion Afternoons
Port Discovery Children’s Museum aims to be an accessible, inclusive environment for children and adults to thrive through playful learning experiences. Our Access & Inclusion Afternoons provide a modified environment for play and learning for children, their caregivers, and families.
This program is intended for the general public serving children and families with disabilities, on the autism spectrum, sensory processing disorders, and/or families who would benefit from a quieter sensory friendly environment at the museum.

The Preakness Showcase at Port Discovery
Celebrate the spirit of Maryland, on May 10 & 11, with The Preakness Showcase at Port Discovery! From ponies and Maryland-inspired art projects to local music and interactive activities, this weekend honors everything that makes the Old Line State unique. It’s a fantastic way to get excited right before Preakness, all while learning and having fun with your family!

Free Audition Workshop
What are the most important elements an actor needs to be aware of to prepare for an audition and to be cast in a particular role? Join well-known Baltimore Director, Steve Goldklang for this FREE 2-hour workshop that invites actors to put a new spin on their approach to preparing for auditions. Registration is required to attend.

Jake's Day Community Skate Party
Join us for our annual community skate event at Jake's Skate Park in Rash Field Park! This free event is a chance for kids 12 and under to learn to skate in a fun, supportive environment. Local pro skater Joey Jett of Bmore Create, along with shredders from the Skatepark of Baltimore and Shape Skate Foundation, will be assisting young skaters to get on board.

4th Annual Hops 4 Health
Max's Taphouse presents the 4th Annual Hops 4 Health, a one-of-a-kind fundraising event to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metropolitan Baltimore. Hops for Health will feature exclusive specialty beers from partnering local breweries. All funds raised will go towards NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore's free mental health programs. Don’t miss out on The Big Wheel Race, where local breweries will compete for a dedicated tap line at Max's for a year. There will also be a 50/50, silent auction and other prizes to contribute towards Max’s fundraising goal. Grab your friends and a drink to support a good cause.

Unbreakable Love: The Power of Black Love in Healing and Resistance
Did you know that abolitionist Frederick Douglass chose Valentine Day’s as the day to celebrate his birthday, as his birthdate was unknown to him as an enslaved person? Celebrate the strength of Black love with storytellers of The Short Kuts Show, tracing its roots through the hardships of slavery, segregation, and systemic racism. This show highlights how love—whether from a partner, family, or community—has been a source of resilience, strength, and healing, playing a crucial role in overcoming trauma and oppression.
