Mingle and explore the museum’s three levels of hands-on interactive exhibits. Solstice is for ages 21+ only. Funds raised through Solstice support free admission for all Maryland school children and their teachers who visit as part of a field trip during the upcoming school year. Solstice also funds our outreach programs—Traveling Science Program, Ready Set Go Science, and Family Science and Family Engineering Nights.

Port Discovery’s Sensory Friendly Mornings provide Museum access to families who would benefit from a sensory friendly experience and quieter setting at Port Discovery two hours before opening to the general public. Designed to provide an opportunity to enjoy the Port Discovery experience in a sensory modified setting there will be limited admission and sound and lighting adjustments. Sensory Friendly Mornings will include open-play opportunities throughout the Museum. No proof of qualification will be required.

Max's Taphouse presents the 4th Annual Hops 4 Health, a one-of-a-kind fundraising event to benefit the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Metropolitan Baltimore. Hops for Health will feature exclusive specialty beers from partnering local breweries. All funds raised will go towards NAMI Metropolitan Baltimore's free mental health programs. Did you  know that abolitionist Frederick Douglass chose Valentine Day’s as the day to celebrate his birthday, as his birthdate was unknown to him as an enslaved person? Celebrate the strength of Black love with storytellers of  The Short Kuts Show, tracing its roots through the hardships of slavery, segregation, and systemic racism. This show highlights how love—whether from a partner, family, or community—has been a source of resilience, strength, and healing, playing a crucial role in overcoming trauma and oppression.
